YOUR INTENSITY DOES NOT SCARE ME
Your Intensity Does Not Scare Me, 2026
Video performance - from Doll, Interrupted
Your Intensity Does Not Scare Me takes its title from a declaration once offered as reassurance. Removed from its original exchange, the sentence is treated as an unstable object: a promise whose meaning changes when subsequent behaviour no longer sustains it.
Through the repeated handling of flesh and a blade and interpretative movement inspired by the Rorschach test, the performance materialises the language of emotional intensity.
Seduction, care, examination and threat remain deliberately unresolved, while the body becomes the site upon which intimacy’s contradictions are made visible.
The work considers what happens when certainty is offered by another person, believed, and later withdrawn by their actions.
